Comments

The Comments tab in the Edit Asset view allows to communicate with other users. Every asset, link and property value can be commented on, and each comment may also have a file attachment. Comments can also be created when using Surveys.

Introduction

Selecting any asset or link in any Report will show its details in the sidebar. In this sidebar, select the Timeline tab to see a timeline of changes for the selected asset or link:

In this timeline, you can see all the changes which have been applied to the selected asset or link, as well as all comments, in chronological order (newest events on top). Comments which have been authored by yourself are highlighted. Click into the Add a comment to the asset... field to add a new comment:

In addition to the comment message, you can also add a File Attachment. Such an attachment can be anything, from images to documents and spreadsheets. Every other Txture user who can see your comment can also download all files attached to it.

Comment visibility

You can optionally restrict the visibility of your comment:

By default, all comments are public. You can also add private comments which are only visible to you. The third option allows you to make the comment visible only to certain Users or User Roles. Note that your own comments will always be visible to you, even if your User Account does not have any of the selected Roles assigned.

Commenting on properties

You can comment on an asset or link as a whole, but you can also comment on individual properties. To do so, type your message, then select the desired property from the drop-down menu on top of the text box (selecting General will switch back to commenting on the asset / link).

Comment summary

If you have an asset or link selected in a Report, the right sidebar will display the number of comments on the selected element, as well as the number of comments on each of its properties:

Clicking on the icons will take you to the Timeline and filter it such that it only contains events and comments regarding the selected property. Clicking the top-level icon next to the asset name will show the unfiltered Timeline.

Exporting comments

Comments can be exported from the repository. Click on Menu and then Export as to get a dedicated comment export.
