Data Requirements

In order to compute meaningful target architectures, certain data is required. Some properties are necessary to find a suitable replacement, while others are not essential but will help to improve the quality of the proposals. The minimum requirements vary by Asset Type and are marked with an asterisk (*) in the list below. Where these properties are not defined, a default value is used. An exception is the Technology property for technical components and databases, for which no default value is defined and which should therefore be specified in order to receive meaningful proposals. Note that the quality of the proposals improves significantly as more of the listed properties are filled in.

Data Enhancer

In case your data source does not provide the necessary properties you can use the Data Enhancer to augment the available dataset. By providing the properties Technology (e.g. EC2 Instance) and / or Technology Variant (e.g. m5.2xlarge), the Data Enhancer can retrieve additional information about the assets.
