Proposal from Scratch
You can create a proposal from scratch without any prior configurations.
When reviewing the available proposals for an application, you can create your proposal by clicking on the Create proposal from scratch
button.
This button is located on the far right, just above the list of generated proposals.
Once you click the button, you will be presented with an empty proposal. To make modifications to your proposal, navigate to the Price & Bill of Materials tab. By default, the migration action for each asset will be undecided or relying on the action of linked assets (Rehost / Replatform / Refactor).
To select the appropriate migration action, click on the dropdown menu next to Action
and choose your desired migration action.
You can then specify whether the migration action involves Rehosting, Replatforming, Refactoring, or Repurchasing.
Depending on your choice of migration action, the selected asset will be removed from the target landscape (Remove/Retire) or left as-is (Retain).
If you opt to replace the asset (Replace), you will be presented with a list of cloud products available from various providers.
You can select a suitable replacement from this list and click on Select Product
to designate it as the replacement for the asset.
Alternatively, you can also choose to employ a shared component as part of your migration strategy. This option allows you to replace the asset with a component shared among multiple applications within the target landscape. For details on shared infrastructure, please refer to the Shared components section.
Once you have finished configuring the migration actions for all assets, you can save or select the proposal to store it for the application.
You can later make changes by going to the Saved Proposals or Selected Proposal tab (depending on your previous choice) and clicking the Edit proposal
button.
