Cluster Table
The cluster table combines characteristics of the Cluster Matrix and the Table Report. Similar to the table report, the assets and their properties and links are shown in a table.
As an extension to the table report, the result of a custom query can be clustered and sorted by criteria on the y-axis, similar as it can be done in the cluster matrix. In contrast to the table report, assets might be shown in multiple rows when they are members of multiple categories on the y-axis.
Data assets are displayed as a table where the y-axis can be arbitrarily selected by the user. In contrast to the cluster matrix, the cluster table can show individual properties of each asset on the x-axis:
Key features
-
Vertical Clustering: Assets are grouped into rows based on properties or relationships you define on the y-axis. If an asset belongs to multiple categories, it appears in multiple rows.
-
Detailed Columns: Unlike a cluster matrix that shows only counts or presence, the cluster table displays individual asset properties in columns (name, owner, cost, status, etc.).
-
Flexible Configuration: Choose exactly which properties and relationships to display, giving you control over the information density.
Configuring a cluster table report
Step 1: Define your query
- Navigate to
Reportin the main menu - Click
Create New Report - Select
Cluster Tableas the report type - Go to the
Filterstab - Use the Query bar to define which assets to include in your report
Example Queries:
- Add Type is Application Instance - All application instances
- Add Type is Physical Server
Filter Location is Munich - All physical servers in Munich - Add Type is Application Instance
Filter owner is me - All application instances that you own
Start with a broader query and refine it later. You can always adjust the query after seeing the results.
Step 2: Configure the vertical axis (y-axis)
The y-axis determines how your assets are grouped into rows.
- Open the
Contenttab - Under
Configure Vertical Axis, select one or more properties or relations - Choose from:
- Properties - Group by asset properties (e.g., Status, Lifecycle Phase, Priority)
- Relations - Group by relationships to other assets (e.g., Business Capability, Location, Owner)
Assets can appear in multiple rows if they belong to multiple categories on the y-axis.
Step 3: Select columns (x-axis)
Define which properties and links to display as columns.
- In the
Contenttab, clickEdit columns. - Select the properties you want to display.
- Reorder columns by dragging them.
- Click
ApplyorOkto confirm.
Step 4: Save your report
- Click the
Savebutton in the top right corner. - Enter a descriptive report name.
- Optionally add a description.
- Choose visibility settings:
- Private - Only you can see it
- Public - All users can access it
- Restricted - Share with specific users or roles
- Click
Save
Styling
All configured conditional stylings are applied on the shown assets and there is full asset detail sidebar support as known from the table report. Note that conditional styling rules can be applied globally and per report.
Exporting your report
- Click the
Exportbutton in the top right - Select
Excel (.xlsx) - The file downloads with:
- Cluster groupings preserved
- All visible columns included
- Conditional styling applied (as cell colors)
