Transformation Cockpit Reset

In certain situations, it might be necessary to reset the progress in the Transformation Cockpit for some or all of your applications. For example, this may be necessary if you have already selected proposals for your applications, but later realize that you want to import additional data and take it into account for the assessment and the generation of cloud proposals.

When resetting, the decisions you made manually, such as the selection of a migration strategy in the Assessment section or the selection of a cloud proposal in the Target Architecture section, are reset. You can either do a reset for a single application, for a set of applications or for all applications at once.

Reset for a single application

For a single application, you can either (1.) reset the assessment results & the selection of cloud proposals or (2.) reset the selection of cloud proposals only:

  1. To reset both the assessment results & the selection of cloud proposals go to the Assessment section in the Transformation Cockpit and select your application from the list on the left. Then click on Reset.
  2. To just reset the selection of cloud proposals go to the Target Architecture section in the Transformation Cockpit and select your application from the list on the left. Then click on Selected Proposal and then on Remove selection.

Reset for a subset of or for all applications

Resetting a set of applications or all applications in your instance needs to be done in two separate steps:

Step A - Reset to Txture's default results for Assessment & Target Architecture

Both assessment results and the proposed cloud proposal are calculated by the consolidations task "Target Architecture asset update". As soon as the migration strategy in the Assessment or a proposal in the Target Architecture has been selected manually for the application, the application is no longer taken into account by the "Target Architecture asset update" task for the migration strategy or the cloud proposal respectively. This is to prevent the task from overwriting your manual decisions. To reset the results, we need to adjust this "Target Architecture asset update" task as follows:

  1. Go to the admin panel and then to Consolidations.
  2. Select the task "Target Architecture asset update" from the list.
  3. Tick the checkbox "Overwrite manual changes".
  4. Optional: If you don't want to reset your entire application portfolio, use the "Scope Query" to define which applications should be taken into account.
  5. Save the "Target Architecture asset update" task.
  6. Click on the Run button to execute the task. This might take some minutes.
  7. After the task has successfully executed, tick off the checkbox "Overwrite manual changes" and save again the tasks. Otherwise, your manual decisions will always be overwritten.

Alternatively, one can also temporarily add a second Target Architecture asset update task and let it overwrite the manual changes.

Step B - Reset the property "Migration Status"

The status in the process bar in the Transformation Cockpit is based on the application's property "Migration Status". To display the status correctly again, we have to reset this property manually.

  1. Filter the repository using the query bar until only those applications remain that you want to reset (the same applications as in step A, task 4). Alternatively filter your repository so that all applications are shown.
  2. Select all remaining applications using the shift key on your keyboard.
  3. Right-click on the selected applications and then click on edit.
  4. You can now reset the property "Migration Status" for all your selected applications at once by removing the property's value or you set it to a state of your choice, for example to "Data Collection completed".
  5. As soon as you saved your changes, the status in the process bar in the Transformation Cockpit should have been reset as well.
